- ➤ The second annual On Jackie's Wings, We Rise UP! event will be held on October 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Brittingham Park with speakers including Brenda Frasser and local officials, and participants will walk to the State Capitol and enjoy refreshments and activities—funds raised will support DAIS and efforts for legislative change in domestic violence prevention. - ➤ The University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Blk Pwr Coalition held a vigil on Library Mall today to honor Mississippi men Trey Reed and Cory Zukatis who were found hanging on Sept. 15—about 100 community members lit candles and chanted to raise concerns about anti-Black hate crimes and violence. - ➤ Dane County Regional Airport announced that Sun Country Airlines will begin weekly nonstop flights to Phoenix and Fort Myers on Oct. 23 and American Airlines will add nonstop service to Miami on Nov. 8 as fall cools the air.
