- ➤ After heavy rain forced the cancellation of the Taste Jamboree on August 10th, the Madison Black Chamber of Commerce rescheduled the event for Sunday during Black Restaurant Week—where Karmell Jackson of Melly Mell's Soul Food prepared her signature Holiday Bowl and mentored other food entrepreneurs. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Madison Police investigated an armed robbery of a rideshare driver early Sunday morning on the 900 block of Delaplaine Court after one of the two men picked up from the 500 block of Northport Drive pulled a gun to demand the driver’s money and phone—no items were taken and the suspects, described as Black men aged 19 to 20, fled the scene. - ➤ Friends of Ukraine hosted its fourth annual Ukraine Fest at Lakeview Park on Sunday—attendees tasted homemade borshch, joined in games, and enjoyed live performances that celebrated Ukrainian traditions.
