- ➤ Volunteers from Friends of Monona Bay, led by Nina Emerson, celebrated 20 years of monthly shoreline cleanups this August and collected 21 bags of trash plus large items such as a kitchen sink, a fireman’s boot and a bike frame during Saturday’s effort. Since 2006, the group has gathered over 3,000 bags of trash and continues to welcome new helpers like recent Madison resident Neha Kashyap. WISC-TV

- ➤ The Dane County Sheriff's Office said human remains were found in a manure pit on the 2100 block (State Highway 19) in Sun Prairie Saturday morning at 6:45 a.m. and the Medical Examiner will later release the deceased’s identity as the investigation continues. WISC-TV

- ➤ The 38th Great Taste of the Midwest was celebrated at Olin Park on Saturday—featuring three main sections and a new Collaboration Station where visitors sampled over 30 collaboration beers—and highlighted brews made by local and out-of-region breweries.
