ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office identified 39-year-old Magiel Antonio Castro Morales, who died in a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 19 near Marshall early Tuesday morning — deputies said the crash closed both lanes for over six hours and two other drivers were seriously injured before roadways reopened at 6:43 a.m. FOX 47

- ➤ On Wednesday, Vince Hildestad pleaded not guilty to setting an apartment building on fire on Blossom Lane and now faces trial that could lead to 40 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. WMTV
- ➤ The medical examiner identified Lee Scott III (30-year-old) as the man fatally shot on Madison's North Side. Wisconsin State Journal
- ➤ Vince Hildestad, 53, pleaded not guilty in his online court appearance for allegedly setting his apartment ablaze on the 1700 block of Blossom Lane on May 20 to give his cat a proper cremation that displaced five people — he admitted to being under the influence of marijuana and said he had Parkinson's disease, and his next court hearing is set for Oct. 15. - ➤ The final Concerts on the Square 2025 show was postponed from a rainy Wednesday to today because the weather was poor — the Wisconsin Chamber Orchestra said forecasts call for partly sunny skies with highs in the 70s. Fans can set out blankets at 3 p.m. on King Street to enjoy performances featuring pieces by Shostakovich, Beethoven and pianist Sylvia Jiang. WISC-TV

- ➤ Today, UW-Madison said its Canvas system now has AI tools that help teachers grade work and make quizzes, but instructors can turn off features when needed (the school warns against letting AI fully replace personal feedback). - ➤ Public Health Madison and Dane County issued an alert after officials saw a rise in overdoses that they say may be linked to stimulant drugs cut with synthetic opioids. The alert noted that Narcan—available at local pharmacies and vending machines—is helping reduce overdose responses. WKOW
