- ➤ A three-vehicle crash on State Highway 19 near Marshall occurred overnight in Medina, leaving one person dead and two seriously injured and causing the highway to be closed for six hours—officials are investigating the incident. WISC-TV

- ➤ Madison Police said a man has been held in custody since Tuesday’s shooting on the 2100 block of Schlimgen Avenue for breaking parole and now faces charges of first-degree intentional homicide and firearm possession by a felon after Lee Scott III died from his injuries on July 24. WMTV
- ➤ Madison police arrested Joshua T. Dean for first-degree intentional homicide and possession of firearm by a felon after a targeted shooting on July 22 outside an apartment on Schlimgen Avenue that fatally wounded 30-year-old Lee F. Scott III on July 24—an investigation is ongoing. WKOW
- ➤ A man named Ramiro N. Rueben Rodrique threatened a woman with a pocketknife on W. Mifflin Street early Saturday and a good Samaritan stepped in before officers later found him near Capitol Square and arrested him for second-degree recklessly endangering safety. WKOW
- ➤ Madison police are investigating hidden cameras found in a bathroom at a short-term rental on Ashworth Dr after a renter discovered one on July 20—detectives are asking former guests to come forward with details from their stays. WKOW

- ➤ Parisi Construction will close McKenna Blvd from Pilgrim Rd to Putnam Rd at 7:00 a.m. Monday, August 4 as part of the 2025 Resurfacing Program — the company will replace the storm sewer and water laterals and plans to reopen the road by 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 5 while drivers follow the detour on Homestead Rd. - ➤ On Tuesday, the EPA released a draft rule in Indiana that would repeal a 2009 finding declaring greenhouse gases a threat to health and welfare — a key basis for current pollution limits. Gov. Tony Evers and climate experts said the move abandons established science — a change that could lead to legal challenges and weaken environmental protections. Wisconsin Public Radio
- ➤ Madison Fire Assistant Chief Chris Hammes said the CARES program helped 10,000 people with non-violent mental health emergencies by sending a paramedic and a crisis worker in a two-person team.
