- ➤ Madison Police said an intoxicated woman jumped into Lake Mendota at James Madison Park Tuesday during a welfare check and tried swimming away—she was later taken to the hospital and arrested for obstruction, felony bail jumping and threatening officers. WMTV
- ➤ Shorewood Hills Police warned residents about scam emails impersonating Village Board President John Imes — officials said the fake emails are not linked to him — and advised residents to verify the sender with Village Hall. WISC-TV

- ➤ Fans gathered at Camp Randall Saturday as Coldplay performed and filled the surrounding streets with tailgate setups + drive-up parking that sometimes cost up to $100. Many drove from far away while local children ran a lemonade stand and music sparked memories for longtime fans. WMTV
- ➤ Opera in the Park returned Saturday at Garner Park to celebrate over 20 years of tradition in Madison. - ➤ Madison coin collectors and shops say that ending the penny will change coin collecting as the U.S. Treasury placed its final order for penny blanks in May—an action expected to save taxpayers $56 million.
