- ➤ The Madison Fire Department responded to a severe fire at a duplex on O’Brien Court on Wednesday at 10:26 p.m. that displaced 13 people, killed eight kittens, injured one firefighter, and caused about $250,000 in damage while crews rescued five additional kittens—investigation is ongoing. WKOW

- ➤ Authorities said David and Teri Pabst — both 64 — were found dead at their Middleton home on July 8 after a family member discovered their absence at 2:20 p.m., and investigators believe their 25-year-old son James shot them after 9:30 p.m. on July 7 before dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound during a traffic stop on US 14. - ➤ A 20-year-old woman named Jayla Green was arrested in Madison for allegedly trying to bribe officers to free her from custody after a bar fight erupted early Wednesday morning on West Main Street — officers said about 10 people were involved and one man fled when they arrived. FOX 47
- ➤ On July 4, two Madison homes were vandalized with red spray paint and fake blood to send a pro-Palestine message, with officers reviewing digital evidence from a 7:40 a.m. incident on North Fifth Street and a similar event two hours later on Keyes Avenue—University spokespersons condemned the actions as dangerous and unlawful.
