  • Madison Police are responding to shots fired on Kessel Court after a call came in at 10:22 a.m. — officials have not confirmed if any injuries occurred.  WMTV

CULTURE NEWS

  • Willy Street Art Gallery is hosting its first open house since a fire nearly 10 years ago—owner Sharon Kilfoy turned her home into the gallery. Art will be on sale Friday and Saturday—offering locals a chance to see and buy unique works.  WISC-TV
  • The Morgan Wallen concert at Camp Randall was evacuated on Sunday because lightning forced officials to urge patrons to seek shelter—officials later allowed re-entry as conditions improved and the show resumed.  WMTV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • UW-Madison hosted the Wisconsin Rural Scholars pilot program last week, where high school students from seven rural schools spent a week on campus learning through lectures, labs, and dorm stays; they even got hands-on experience driving a one-fourth-scale tractor — adorned with the UW-Madison Flying W logo — built by agriculture students for pulling competitions. The USDA-funded program aimed to demystify college life and encourage rural students to consider higher education as a real option.  Wisconsin State Journal
