- ➤ Former Wisconsin State Journal managing editor Cliff Behnke, a UW-Madison graduate who spent 40 years shaping local journalism, died Sunday at BrightStar Senior Living in Madison after a battle with Parkinson’s Disease—he was known for his no-nonsense style. - ➤ Madison police arrested a man who allegedly fired a gun and struck a home on the near east side early Friday at about 1:14 a.m.—officers found shell casings at the scene and apprehended the suspect near the 900 block of Royster Oaks Drive while the investigation continued. WISC-TV
- ➤ A Madison couple is accused of trying to poison a Rock County woman in separate attacks in April and May — incidents included a gym water bottle attack and toxic fumes in her car — and police charged them with attempted first-degree intentional homicide and other crimes. WISC-TV

- ➤ Wisconsin Humanities went into hibernation after its federal funding was cancelled, forcing layoffs and the end of its cultural programs. A $200,000 grant and a $50,000 challenge grant, along with local donations, let three staffers maintain key projects — including archiving programs and holding listening sessions until funding returns. - ➤ More than 73,000 Wisconsin families have used federal tax credits for clean energy and home upgrades, but lawmakers plan to end these incentives by the end of the year. - ➤ Nakoma Road will be open to inbound traffic only starting Monday, June 30th for a sidewalk project that adds a new walkway and removes many parking spots, with metro buses detoured to Cherokee Drive.
