- ➤ Clean Lakes Alliance will host its 13th annual Loop the Lake Bike Ride on Saturday. Riders will follow the official Lake Loop clockwise around Lake Monona, starting and ending at Olbrich Park — all registration fees will support community educational programs, lake improvement projects and a volunteer lake monitoring program — as planned. - ➤ Madison Police arrested a 22-year-old man on June 6 at an apartment on the 900 block of Williamson Street after receiving reports of alleged terrorist threats on social media last week—officers discovered guns, electronics, and marijuana, and he now faces charges for terrorist threats and drugs. - ➤ A new temporary art installation called Preserve debuted this week at the UW Arboretum and features 1,000 documented species — inspired by Aldo Leopold's land ethic — and is open for free until Sept. 27 during regular hours. WISC-TV

- ➤ Wilder Deitz turned an old therapy office near the Dane County Regional Airport into a collection of music practice spaces for his School for Creative Music where about 80 students learn ensemble skills—he and his partner settled here in April and plan to expand as enrollment grows. - ➤ Eighth-graders Teresa Ketarkus and Makai Moore and seventh-grader Elias Ketchum of Spring Harbor Middle School won the national title at the African-American History Academic Challenge last week—sweeping five preliminary rounds and holding their opponents scoreless in the final round. Their coach, Sara Leuthold, prepared the team for six months, and this victory is the school's second national win following their 2018 championship. WISC-TV

- ➤ The Wisconsin Democracy Campaign and two voters sued Elon Musk, America PAC and United States of America Inc.—claiming that cash offers during the state's Supreme Court race amounted to bribery by providing $100 for petition signatures and $1 million checks—and the suit seeks to bar similar future offers. - ➤ DATCP is urging consumers to protect seniors from scams ahead of World Elder Abuse Day on Sunday — the agency offers free presentations, fact sheets, and a hotline to help victims spot and report potential fraud. WKOW
- ➤ City leaders, including Mayor Satya Rhodes-Conway, proposed new duplex options for Madison residents as part of the Housing Forward effort to increase affordable housing and help control rising rental costs.
