- ➤ Housing Initiatives is building a 16-unit affordable housing project on Roth Street but faces delays after MGE denied its request for a unified electric meter that would ease solar energy use and avoid extra fees. The nonprofit now must choose between a costly waiver from the Public Services Commission and proceeding under state rules that require individual meters for permanent housing—while city officials and renewable energy groups call for less strict metering standards. - ➤ At TPC Wisconsin, the American Family Insurance Championship began yesterday with an opening ceremony at 8:20 a.m. that featured a flyover from the 115th Fighter Wing and an inaugural tee shot by 8-year-old Laine—now cancer free—and the event will run until Sunday with team and celebrity tournaments today featuring Mia Hamm, Justin Herbert and Charles Woodson hosted by Andy North. Organizers said the tournament has raised millions for American Family Children’s Hospital—part of a record $19.7 million since 2016—thanks to over 1,000 local volunteers. WMTV
