  • A former motel on Madison’s east side at 4757 Hayes Road has been transformed into Sandburg Studios — a 129-unit affordable housing development built with community input and using the building’s original structure to keep rents lower.  WMTV
  • On Sunday morning, bicyclists launched Bike Week in Madison with Pride Ride as they met at McPike Park, rode 3.5 miles to Brittingham Park, decorated their bikes, and then enjoyed free snacks (ice cream, bubbles, and more).  WKOW

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Sugar Maple Music Festival will hold its 22nd season on August 1 and 2 at W.G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park in Madison — featuring a lineup that includes Brennan Edwards, Katie and the Honky Tonks and MadFiddle — and will offer educational workshops, interactive jam sessions, family-friendly activities and local vendors with ticket prices varying by day and free entry for children 17 and under with a ticketed adult.  WMTV
