- ➤ Madisonians have noticed a colorful new mural on the corner of the new parking structure at Village on Park that celebrates South Madison leaders with vibrant portraits and shapes — the artwork, called 'Colorful Characters,' is part of the city's Percent for Art initiative and is located near the Urban League’s Black Business Hub. - ➤ The National Association of Letter Carriers is holding its annual 'Stamp Out Hunger' food drive today in Madison communities, so residents can leave nonperishable food by their mailbox and have it delivered to local food pantries (like Second Harvest). The drive aims to collect about 200,000 lbs of food to support families and students who need extra resources after school ends. WKOW
- ➤ On June 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., dairy cows, educators and dairy lovers will gather near Capitol Square on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard—where visitors will interact with cows, talk with experts and sample Wisconsin dairy products—offering a chance to learn about the state’s dairy industry firsthand. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Jeffrey Rupnow, the father of the teen who shot at Abundant Life Christian School last December and who is charged with selling dangerous weapons to a minor and with contributing to child delinquency, made his initial court appearance on Friday where a cash bond was set at $20,000 and conditions include (wearing a GPS monitor, avoiding contact with the school, and no firearm possession) with his next court date set for June 9.
