  • The city of Madison broke ground on the Imagination Center at Reindahl Park, where a new library and community space will offer free Wi-Fi and public computers for all ages. The project will be completed in summer 2026 — marking the first new library for Madison Public Library in more than 25 years.  WKOW
  • Madison Public Library celebrates its 150th anniversary with nine branches that evolved from a 1875 library limited to men 15 and up to a modern hub offering digital resources, after-school snacks, and language support — a change that honors its rich history — and now invites community members to get a library card and explore its programs.  Wisconsin State Journal

CRIME NEWS

  • Jeffrey Rupnow, the father of the teen shooter who brought two handguns to Abundant Life Christian School last December, was arrested early Thursday and charged with two felony counts of intentionally giving a dangerous weapon to a minor and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor—he is set to appear in court today while being held in Dane County Jail.  Wisconsin Public Radio
  • Madison police arrested Jeffrey Rupnow, the father of the 15-year-old who shot at Abundant Life Christian School on December 16—killing two and injuring six—on Thursday at 3:45 a.m., and online records show he was charged with selling a dangerous weapon to a minor and contributing to child delinquency.  FOX 47
  • A Cottage Grove crash killed Dr. Kami Hansen, her family dog and injured her son, and police confirmed that suspected driver Jeffrey Endres—found dead in Dane County Jail Tuesday at 5:57 a.m.—is under investigation as authorities continue forensic testing to determine his exact cause of death.  FOX 47
