ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 69-year-old driver died in a head-on crash on US Highway 51 and County Highway B near Dunn at about 8:20 p.m.—the Dane County Sheriff’s Office said the SUV crossed the centerline while a 47-year-old pickup truck driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.  WMTV
  • One person died and another was seriously injured when a 69-year-old SUV driver crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a southbound pickup truck at U.S. Highway 51 and County Highway B in the Town of Dunn Sunday at approximately 8:20 p.m.—authorities are investigating the cause.  WKOW

CRIME NEWS

  • The Wisconsin Department of Justice issued a Silver Alert this morning for 77-year-old Hyo Y. Freiboth who was last seen walking near the 6900 block of Carnwood Road at 5:30 p.m. Sunday and is believed to have dementia or another cognitive impairment (authorities ask anyone with information to call Madison Police at 608 255 2345).  WMTV
  • Madison Police said a man was arrested for operating while intoxicated after he rear-ended another driver, lost control, and his vehicle rolled over near Todd Drive on the Beltline Saturday at 11:16 p.m.—he was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries as eastbound lanes remained closed for several hours.  WISC-TV
  • Madison Police issued a Silver Alert for 77-year-old Hyo Y. Freiboth after she was last seen walking in the 6900 block of Carnwood Rd on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.+ she is described as Asian or Pacific Islander with brown eyes and long grey hair in a ponytail while wearing a red sweater, dark jeans, dark gloves and dark tennis shoes.  WISC-TV

  • Madison neighborhoods hosted the 15th annual Marquette-Atwood Art Walk on Sunday, May 4, with 60 local artists displaying jewelry, paintings, pottery, and mix-media on front lawns and driveways+ residents and visitors walked the scenic streets to view the works.  WMTV

  • College cyclists competed for a national title at the USA Cycling Collegiate Road National Championships in Madison and Waterloo this past weekend. Teams from UW-Madison, UW-Whitewater and UW-Platteville raced downtown as club and varsity riders joined the event—drawing top talent from across the country.  WMTV
