- ➤ On Saturday, thousands of UW-Madison students and visitors filled Mifflin Street for the 56th annual block party where police arrested 42 people for alcohol-related offenses under the new Amnesty Through Responsible Action policy—city officials had raised safety concerns after last year’s event that saw property damage and injuries. - ➤ Late Saturday night at 10:24 p.m., police, fire, and EMS responded to a crash on the 300 block of Cottage Grove Road where an intoxicated pedestrian was struck by a vehicle – the pedestrian sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. WKOW
- ➤ An intoxicated driver crashed into Buckeye Barbershop over the weekend, damaging the building and leaving the owner to file an insurance claim—neighbors now urge the city to add safety measures to prevent future accidents. WKOW

- ➤ A Madison man was arrested Saturday for causing a disturbance in Fitchburg and was booked on charges of disorderly conduct, battery to a law enforcement officer and threats to a law enforcement officer — he allegedly injured a Dane County deputy at the jail. WMTV
- ➤ Fitchburg police arrested a 34-year-old Madison man on Saturday after he allegedly created a disturbance at a business in Fitchburg by carrying an air rifle and several knives, and he reportedly struck a Dane County deputy at jail (resulting in a minor injury). WISC-TV

- ➤ The Madison community celebrated the grand opening of the new Chabad Jewish Center on Monroe Street— a facility for worship and education. James Stein said the center was built after years of planning and fundraising—designed to serve the local Jewish community. WKOW
