CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Authorities arrested a 19-year-old Waupun man on Tuesday for alleged cocaine trafficking after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs, paraphernalia, and drug-related money in his car and at a Chester home—officials say the arrest is part of an ongoing investigation. WMTV
- ➤ After assaults on Wednesday night and a stabbing over Saint Patrick’s Day weekend, residents along State Street are worried as downtown prepares for a busy weekend with events like the Crazylegs Classic and Mifflin Street Block Party. Madison police will increase officer presence and urge visitors to allow extra time for traffic — advising that those who drink arrange safe rides home. WMTV
- ➤ One man is in custody after he reportedly assaulted several people on the 500 block of State Street (at approximately 8:50 p.m. Wednesday), and he was taken to Dane County Jail on multiple charges. WISC-TV

- ➤ Dane County officials toured the aging Veterans Memorial Coliseum at the Alliant Energy Center on Wednesday as County Executive Melissa Agard plans to seek developers for a public–private partnership to renovate key areas. Agard will gather public input before issuing an RFP this summer and will match developer investment to improve safety and function (the venue has not been updated since 1969 and faces capacity challenges).
