- ➤ The Midwest Horse Fair returns to the Alliant Energy Center Coliseum today — causing traffic changes on John Nolen Drive as one southbound lane is closed. Fair officials said the event features over 800 horses with two nights of rodeo, 30 expert speakers — and family-friendly activities with general admission tickets at $25 per day. WKOW

- ➤ Madison East High School has chosen former student and longtime assistant principal Patrice Haste as its next principal. Haste will take over on July 1 and said she plans to build stronger student support—efforts that will help students feel welcome. WMTV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Felland Road will close to thru traffic from Lein Rd to Commercial Ave/Hwy T on Tuesday, April 15 for utility installation and intersection improvements at the Felland Road/Bridle Way intersection. The project will limit access to local traffic only — detours will be needed — with traffic expected to return by May 15. City of Madison
- ➤ Wisconsin voters chose Justice-elect Susan Crawford in the 2025 Supreme Court race by a 10-point margin over Brad Schimel. Key counties such as Dane, Milwaukee and the BOW counties flipped from red to blue — a sign of shifting voter trends. The Daily Cardinal
- ➤ Recount results show that Madison District 19 Alder John Guequierre will keep his seat after a ballot correction gave challenger Anthony Nino Amato 3,472 votes—leaving an eight-vote margin. - ➤ On April 10, the Dane County Board of Supervisors approved converting the vacant White House Shoppes at 6706-6714 Odana Road into a 124-unit apartment complex with over 75 affordable housing units and 25 units for people experiencing homelessness.
