- ➤ Jacob Martonito, a sixth grader from Classical Charter School in Appleton, won the state spelling bee at Madison College’s Mitby Theatre on Saturday after 53 contestants battled through ten rounds of spelling and vocabulary tests—runner-up Ethan Robert from New Berlin will join him at the Scripps National Spelling Bee at National Harbor from May 27-29.
