  • Food Fight Restaurant Group will launch a special menu campaign from April 1-30 at its 15 locations in Madison and Middleton to support Second Harvest Foodbank of Southern Wisconsin. Each menu item will donate $1 automatically — guests may add extra donations during their orders — and partners like Tito's Handmade Vodka and Delta Beer Lab are contributing to the campaign.  FOX 47

  • Saunaday is a new spa set to open in July at 315 S. Blount St that will offer three sauna rooms, a cold plunge pool on a raised platform, and shower facilities for drop-in relaxation. Created by Roshelle and Jason Ritzenthaler and inspired by global sauna traditions — it is the first of its kind here — the space will provide downtown Madison residents with convenient self-care options.  The Capital Times

CRIME NEWS

  • A Fitchburg man named David Junius pleaded guilty on December 19th to possessing 500 or more grams of cocaine for distribution and was given a seven-year prison sentence—federal agents linked him to a drug trafficking ring operating in Portage, Madison and La Crosse.  WMTV
  • James Barnes-Morris, 25, received a $1 million bond after his initial court appearance on Friday for first-degree intentional homicide with domestic abuse assessments in connection with the killing of 24-year-old Brooke Strattan—whose body was found in a pond on the UW-Madison Arboretum—and his preliminary hearing is set for April 3.  FOX 47

  • The Youth Art State Exhibit has taken over East Towne Mall for the fourth year—displaying over 600 art pieces by Pre-K to 12th grade students as part of Youth Art Month. Awards were presented to over 40 students Friday, and art from 130 schools is on view.  WMTV

  • Wisconsin voters will choose the next state superintendent on April 1. Incumbent Jill Underly and challenger Brittany Kinser, a former nonprofit leader, will be on the ballot for the role that directs public education in the state—voters will set the future course for education standards and policy.  Wisconsin Public Radio

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Billionaire Elon Musk said he will hold a rally in Wisconsin on Sunday to hand over two checks for $1 million each to voters who have already cast ballots in the heated Supreme Court race. The event is open only to those who voted — it comes despite a state law that bars giving money to influence voting and may face legal challenges before election day.  WKOW

  • A Madison man — Daniel Freiburger, who works as a computer programmer at Epic — will compete on the new season of the Great American Baking Show on Roku starting April 11. He applied three times and shared cake-decorating tips during a recent News 3 Now Live at Four interview.  WISC-TV
